| Olive is 11 months old. Time has flown by soooooo fast! She never ceases to amaze me! Today, I swear I heard her say, "helloooo." She's also getting better saying, "mommy," and "daddy."

Olive has a little area on our stairs she loves to sit and swing her legs. I was watching her just sit there and all of the sudden, she stands. I count... 1...2...3...4...5...6...7!!! She stood all by her little self for 7 seconds! AMAZING!
She also plays telephone with everything. She'll take her bath rag, put it up her ear and start chatting away. Then, she'll take that same rag and start wiping the floor, the cabinets, and the walls.
Here are a few pics of the Kims. I haven't posted pics in a while:
 hanging out with friends
Me and the Hubs grabbing a drink (or two) at the Bonaventure in LA.
We went out on a night in the town--dinner at Providence, watched "Wicked," and grabbed drinks at the Bonaventure LA.
Olive opening gifts from emo. Olive super happy at her first Christmas party with her little friends.
Dan's surprise for me on V-day!
Isn't it so cute!? I got an actual valentine from my hubs!
My hubs was born on Valentine's day. SO... I surprised him with a gourmet dinner, and Olive surprised him with birthday cupcakes!
 Happy birthday, love!

| i haven't been a student in over 3 years. it's a little over midnight, and i attribute the late night studying to olive. i was trying to watch her, squeeze in my lectures when olive napped, figure out what assignments are due, figure out what to feed my child, and read all at the same time. i think i may need to hire a part time nanny to watch olive while i do some work.
grrrrrrkk...wait, rewind... i'm sure some of you are like, "what is she talking about? she's back in school??" yes, i decided to study fashion design at the art academy here in sf. it's something i've always wanted to do, but never thought i could. i always went for the practical things in life. i realized that my inner-artist was being deprived and screaming to come out. SO.. i finally did it--i enrolled in school and started my first day today. i was a little overwhelmed at first, but it's all gravy now. i actually love what i'm reading, studying and discussing. this is very foreign to me because when i was in undergrad and law school, it felt like i was forcing myself to finish assignments, go through the reading, participate. it's not like that at all with fashion design--i actually look forward to the lectures and the work. i'm actually reading ahead already!!! haha.
anyways, it's almost 12:30am, and i need a little shut eye. olive will be waking up at around 8am and i need to be up and ready to do this all over again tomorrow. yay!

| last night, i was craving brownies. not chocolate... only brownies. i made two dozen walnut chocolate chip cookies a couple of days prior, but we ate all of them (well... i ate most of them). i was telling d that i wish we had brownie mix so that i can have brownies with a glass of milk. he went online to see if he can make it from scratch for me. and he did. he took a lot of the holiday chocolates that were left over, melted it with a stick of butter, mixed in some flour, sugar, and eggs. an hour later, we had brownies. hahaha. it was on the gooey side because he used chocolates that had fudge filling, caramel filling, nougat filling, whatever filling was left in our boxes of chocolates. surprisingly, these mishmash brownies are very tasty.
thank you resourceful hubby. i love you!
added note: i think i gained 20 lbs. eating these brownies. my largest pair of jeans mysteriously shrank!

| i suck at updating this thing. i'm making a commitment to update this thing more often. i think i was better about posting news about things going on and how i was feeling before i had olive. i also know that i haven't posted any fun olive pics in a LONG time. she's grown so much in a matter of a few weeks. i'm amazed at how mature she's become. she loves to imitate and cruise. she loves to sing and listen to music. she LOVES the baby genius nursery rhymes videos. i think i may have a little musician in the making :)
there's so much i'd like to post--pictures, videos, my thoughts, updates, etc.--but, it's 11pm. my husband is sleeping with the baby. they fell asleep together in our room. i love that they just hang out and pass out together. it's very heartwarming.
school is starting in two weeks. i'm not sure how i'll juggle school and taking care of little olive. she demands so much of my time and attention. she's this little inquisitive being that loves to figure how things work. if i turn my back on her for even a minute, she's breaking apart our stereo to see how the cd player works, or she's pushing every button she can find that she can reach. she also loves to copy whatever i'm doing. for example, if i'm cleaning our floors, she'll grab a tissue or her diaper wipe and help me wipe the floors. if i'm reading a book, she wants to read along with me. if i'm on the computer, she wants to "pick" at the keys. she's a handful, but uber fun at this stage. she's no longer a blob of baby--she's an actual little lady!
ok... i have friends coming over to spend the entire day with us in santa cruz. i tried to clean up the place as best as possible, but i just see piles and piles of piles. i wish i could hire someone to de-clutter our home. is there anything like that? every corner of our home literally has clumps of stuff. i wish i was better at organizing. i'm just good at making piles. anyways, i need to sleep, as we have a full day of activities.
i'm out like a light bulb!
